The Electronic Control Module (ECM) has detected an auxiliary pressure that is higher than the trip points that are programmed into the monitoring system.
System Response:
The ECM will log the code.
The level of response is determined by the monitoring system. There is no loss of performance if the monitoring system is programmed to "Warning". If the monitoring system is programmed to "Derate", the ECM will derate power by 25 percent. If the engine is programmed to "Shutdown", the engine will be shutdown.
The connection of any electrical equipment and the disconnection of any electrical equipment may cause an explosion hazard which may result in injury or death. Do not connect any electrical equipment or disconnect any electrical equipment in an explosive atmosphere. |
Test Step 1. Verify the Trip Points
- Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to the service tool connector.
- Access the monitoring system on Cat ET.
- Verify that the trip points for auxiliary pressure are valid for the application.
Expected Result:
The trip points for the auxiliary pressure are valid.
Results:
- OK - The trip points are valid.
Repair: There is a mechanical problem.
STOP
- Not OK - The trip points are not valid.
Repair: Program the trip points to the proper level.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem.
