Kickout Positioner Adjustment Caterpillar

Kickout Positioner Adjustment

Usage:

WHEEL LOADERS

INTEGRATED TOOLCARRIERS

914G (7ZM, 9WM),
924F (5NN, 6MN, 4YN, 7PN),
928G (6XR, 7SR) WHEEL LOADERS;
IT24F (4NN, 6KN),
IT28G (8CR, 9AR) INTEGRATED TOOLCARRIERS

Problem:

When a machine is shipped without an implement (bucket or fork), the tilt kickout positioner is only adjusted to the approximate position in order to achieve a kickout angle. Field adjustments may be necessary. Improperly adjusted kickout positioners can cause damage to the kickout tube, rod, the control, and/or magnet. These field adjustments can be performed incorrectly.

Solution:

Adjust the kickout positioner using the following procedure.

When any adjustments are required to the kickout positioner, adjustment should only be made to the 116-2025 Control or 3E-7843 Control.

Do not move the clamp assembly on the cylinder rod. Do not move the tube. This can cause the shaft assembly to exit the control guide tube. During normal operation machine damage could occur.

The Kickout Adjustment Procedure

1. Park the machine on a level surface with the bucket on the ground and level.
2. Check the position of the clamp assembly, rod and tube. The installed positions are listed in the following illustrations:
See Illustration 1 for 914G Wheel Loader.
See Illustration 2 for the 924F Wheel Loader.
See Illustration 3 for the 928G Wheel Loader.
See Illustration 4 for the IT24F Integrated Toolcarrier.
See Illustration 5 for the IT28G Integrated Toolcarrier.

Adjust the tube or adjust the Clamp Assembly as necessary.

3. Adjust the control to the desired position to obtain the desired kickout angle. See the following illustrations for locations of the control:
Illustration 6 for the IT28G and the IT24F
Illustration 7 for the 928G
Illustration 8 for the 914G and the 924F.

Loosen the bolt(s) (4) and slide control (3). In the case of the Integrated Toolcarrier one control is for the bucket and one control is for the fork.

4. Check machine at high idle. Make any final adjustments.
