Rework of the Fuel Tank Filler Kit - Procedure After Failure: |
1. Position the machine on firm level ground, engage park brake, turn off battery disconnect switch, and leave the machine to cool before proceeding with the remainder of the Rework Procedure. |
2. Remove the fuel filler cap. |
3. Remove the strainer. |
4. Install a rag/cap inside the fuel filler neck to a depth of approximately 40mm. |

5. Cut 25mm off the top of the damaged neck. Refer to Image1.7.1. |

6. Clean the area and remove the debris, then remove the rag/cap. |
7. Install the 499-2199 Hose and two 144-0367 Band Clamps over the plastic filler neck. Refer to Image1.12.1. |
8. Install a 499-2201 Rubber Spacer into the 499-2196 Pipe Assembly. Refer to Image1.10.1. Then install the pipe assembly with the rubber spacer on to 499-2199 Hose. Ensure that the rubber spacer is pressed hard against the existing plastic fuel filler inlet. Refer to Image1.10.2. |

9. Install the 8T-4985 Band Clamp. Refer to Image1.11.1. |

10. Tighten all clamps to a specified torque of 11 N.m and reapply torque after 10 minutes. Refer to Image1.12.1. |

11. Re-install the strainer. |
12. Re-install the cap. Refer to Image1.14.1. |
