Usage:
931B (25Y, 26Y, 29Y, 30Y)
These power take-off groups are needed to operate rear mounted attachments such as a winch. 5G1818 Power Take-Off Drive Group is used on machines that are equipped with a transmission that has three forward and three reverse speeds. 6S6707 Power Take-Off Drive Group is used on machines that are equipped with a transmission that has three forward and one reverse speed. Installation of these groups is similar on all machines. Use this instruction along with the Service Manual and Parts Book for the correct installation procedure.
(1) Remove cover (1) from the bevel gear and steering clutch case. Remove cage (2) from the rear of the transmission and transfer gear case. These parts will not be needed again.
NOTE: For photo illustration, the transmission was removed from the machine.
(2) Install 6B5333 Seal (3) (with the lip toward the outside) in 6S6775 Cage (4). Install 5J9348 Bearing Assembly (5) on 6S6772 Yoke Assembly (6) and in cage (4) as shown. Fill the bearing with 5P960 Multi-Purpose Grease before installation. Be sure the bearing outside spacer is in the groove in cage (4) at (A). Install 6B5333 Seal (7) (with the lip toward the yoke end), 6S8052 Spacer (8), 5F8916 Lock (9) and 2H3777 Nut (10); tighten nut (10) to 110 ± 7 Nm (80 ± 5 lb-ft) torque. Bend the lock to hold the nut. Install 1H7339 Seal (11) on cage (4). Put multi-purpose grease on seal (11) and install the cage in the bevel gear and steering clutch case where cover (1), above, was removed, Use four S1588 Bolts to fasten the cage. Remove the plug from the top of the steering clutch case and install 3B8489 Fitting (12) where the plug was removed.
(3) Install 3H1397 Seal (13), with the lip toward the inside, in 5G1821 Cage (14) or 6S6774 Cage (15). Install the cage on the transfer gear case where the former cage was removed. Use the former hardware to install cage (15). Use four S1594 Bolts and 5M2894 Washers to install cage (14). Install 5G2225 Yoke Assembly (16). Install 5G1823 Joint Group (17) or 6S6770 Joint Group (18) with eight 5D8269 Bolts; tighten to 35 ± 2 N·m (25 ± 1 lb-ft) torque.
(4) Put grease in fitting (12) as shown in the Lubrication Guide.
