Use Microfiche Libraries For Up-To-Date Information{0374}

Usage:

If you want the latest information on parts or a new procedure go to your microfiche library first. This updated microfiche information is distributed monthly for Parts Books and bi-monthly for Service Manuals. The microfiche is convenient to use and the information is easy to find.

When a discrepancy in a Parts Book or Service Manual is brought to our attention by the dealer, we correct the information as quickly as possible on microfiche. Paper Parts Books are normally revised on a 9 to 12 month schedule. Revisions to paper Service Manuals usually take longer. This means the microfiche is usually more current with repair procedures, specifications, and the correct, improved parts to use.

All safety related changes are given top priority. Parts Books and Service Manuals are frequently revised because of the on-going improvements being made to the Caterpillar products that you service. Use of the microfiche library permits you to give your customers the benefit of these improvements as quickly as possible.

Your use of the most current specifications is important. In fact, we feel that specifications are so important that at times you will notice changes have been handwritten and then re-photographed on the microfiche to get the information to you quicker.
