New Fuel Nozzle Adapter Assembly Used{1106}
Usage:
All 3406, 3408 And 3412 D. I. Engines
Description of Change: New fuel nozzle adapter assemblies are used in the cylinder head groups on the above engines. The new adapter assemblies are made of a different steel alloy that will give a longer service life.
The former adapter assemblies have had crack failures. The former adapters were made of a lead steel alloy. Indications are that the lead in the steel caused the cracks.
Adaptable As: The new 1W7884 and 1W7885 Fuel Valve Adapter Assemblies are direct replacements for the former 9N5431 and 8N9457 Adapter Assemblies respectively. The former adapters have been canceled.
The new parts are in effect with the Serial Numbers shown in the chart.
