Introduction
This instruction gives the procedure to make the dozer blade taller. The addition of spill plates will permit larger blade loads and reduce the amount of material spilling over the top of the blade.

Installation of Plates
1. Remove existing rod rock deflectors (1) from the bulldozer blade with an air carbon arc torch or similar tool. Retain the deflectors for reinstallation.
2. Remove existing moldboard backer plate (2) by cutting along edges (A),(B),(C) and (D). This plate will not be reused.
3. Center plate (3) horizontally and tack weld to the back of existing moldboard (4) with dimension (E), 10 mm (.39").
4. Tack weld moldboard extension RH (5) to existing moldboard and against the end plate assembly.
5. Tack weld moldboard extension LH (6) to existing moldboard and against the end plate assembly.
6. Tack weld center moldboard extension (7) in place between moldboard extensions (5) and (6). Maintain a 10 mm (.39") gap between the center extension and the top of existing moldboard.
7. Tack weld backer plate RH (8) to the blade assembly.
8. Tack weld backup strip (9) to the inside of backer plate (8) with dimension (F), 10 ± 2 mm (.39 ± .08").
9. Tack weld backer plate LH (10) to the blade assembly.
10. Finish weld moldboard extensions and backer plates at their joints using 8 mm (.31") square groove welds.
11. Reinstall the right hand rod rock deflector centered over bracket (11) and 90 ± 3 mm (3.54 ± .12") from the top of the moldboard extension. Weld from point (G) to point (H) using 8 mm (.31") fillet welds. Take care not to run welds to the ends of the deflector.
12. Reinstall the left hand rod rock deflector in a similar manner.
