Adjustable Arm Rest for D4H and D5H Tractors{7300} Caterpillar

Introduction

The left arm rest of the D4H and D5H tractors can be made adjustable (up and down) by fabricating a plate and completing the following.

Necessary Parts

Modification Procedure

1. Using mild steel fabricate a plate as shown above.

2. Using the fabricated plate as a template, drill three 14.0 mm (.55 in) Ø holes in the side of the console.

3. Weld three 1F0750 nuts to the back side of the console at the holes drilled in step one.

4. Mount the 8G1007 armrest to the plate fabricated above using three 4K3335 screws. These screws will screw into the 3/8 - 16 threaded holes already in the arm rest.

5. Mount this assembly to the left side of the console with three 6J0488 screws and three 8T4896 washers.

6. Adjust up or down for comfort.
