Usage:
Introduction
This instruction gives the procedure to make the dozer blade taller. The addition of spill plates will permit larger blade loads and reduce the amount of material spilling over the top of the blade.
Fabrication of Plates
NOTE: Use 8 mm (.31") thick, high strength structural steel for the following fabrications.
Fabricate the plate above for the 6S Blade
Fabricate the plate above for the 6A Blade
Fabricate the plates above for the 6SU Blade
Gusset and Extension Plate Locations
Installation of Plates
1. Tack weld the extension(s) to the top of the moldboard parallel to the top of the moldboard.
2. Make cardboard templates at locations where gussets will be added. [suggest one gusset every 500 mm (19.69")]
3. Fabricate gussets from 8 mm (.31") thick, high strength structural steel.
4. Tack weld gussets behind the extension(s).
5. Finish weld gussets using 7 mm (.28") fillet welds.
6. Finish weld front of moldboard using 7 mm (.28") fillet welds and grind weld smooth.
7. Trim corners and/or extend endplates as desired.
