Water Temperature Regulator - Remove and Install
Start By:
- Remove the alternator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install".

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

Illustration 2 g01109959 - Remove bolts (4). Remove bonnet (5) from heat exchanger (1). Remove the O-ring seals from the bonnet.
- Remove water temperature regulator (6) and lip seal (7) from heat exchanger (1).

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Use Tooling (A) to install lip seal (7) in heat exchanger (1). Ensure that the lip seal is fully seated in the counterbore.
- Install water temperature regulator (6) into heat exchanger (1).
- Install the O-ring seals in bonnet (5). Position the bonnet on the heat exchanger and install bolts (4).

- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
