Typical example of bearing tab slots in the connecting rod and cap

Connecting rods for C-9, C-10, C-12, and 3126E are now manufactured with dual bearing tab slots (A). The change is introduced as an alternate process that will be used in the manufacture of the connecting rods. This is part of an improvement to the manufacturing process. There will be no effect to the component part number, component life, or installation of the connecting rod.

This feature will become common to most new engines and rebuilt engines.
