New Tightening Procedure for the Base of the Valve Mechanism Cover {1107}
- Machine Engines:
- 3176C
- 3196
- C-12
Description of Change: The valve cover base now has a tightening sequence.
Adaptable To: The tightening procedure is for all 3176C/3196/C-12 machine engines.
The tightening procedure prevents wrinkles from forming in the gasket. This procedure will prevent oil leaks. Refer to Illustration 1 for the proper tightening sequence. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).
