Measuring Exhaust Temperature
A thermocouple is mounted prior to the exhaust inlet of each turbocharger. The Electronic Control Module uses the thermocouples to monitor the exhaust temperature. The exhaust temperatures are displayed at the Diesel Generator Control Panel.
Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) can also be used to check the exhaust temperatures.
The exhaust temperatures can be verified with the 308-7267 Thermistor Thermometer and the 348-5430 Multi-Tool Gp, along with the appropriate software license.
