The existing hose or grease fitting can fail on certain 950H and 962H Wheel Loaders. If the existing elbow and hose fails, it will cause a lack of grease supply to the E-Pin.

PARTS DISPOSITION

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.

Rework Procedure

Group Number 1

Machines listed in Group 1 are 950H Wheel Loaders with standard lift arm and 962H with Mid Lift arm.

Step 1: Remove the 8T-4136 Bolt, 8T-4121 Washer, and 5P-9299 Clip. These parts will be reused at the end of this procedure.

Step 2:
950H Machines: Loosen and remove the 308-0400 Grease Hose and the associated spring or guard.
962H Machines: Loosen and remove the 269-9331 Grease Hose and the associated spring or guard.

Step 3: Remove the 4M-8973 and 278-2078 Elbows from the tilt rod eye.

NOTE: Before removing the pin, refer to the Machine System Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR8881, "Tilt Cylinder - Remove and Install".

Step 4: Remove the 8T-4780 Bolt and 8T-5439 Washer, securing the E-Pin plate and remove the 5V-1508 E-Pin.

NOTE: Before installing the pin, refer to the Machine System Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR8881, "Tilt Cylinder - Remove and Install".

Step 5: Install the new 346-1657 E-Pin.

Step 6: Install the 3B-8489 Grease Fitting on the rod eye.

Step 7: Install the 309-2856 Connector and 177-3464 Elbow in the center of the 346-1657 E-Pin.

Step 8: Connect the new 274-3948 Hose to the 177-3464 Elbow.

Step 9: Install the new 335-9383 Cover Assembly.

Step 10: Secure the 335-9383 Cover Assembly and the 346-1657 E-Pin with the 7X-2564 Bolt and 8T-5439 Washer. Tighten to a torque of 460 +/- 60 Nm.

Step 11: Re-route the 274-3948 Hose and secure with a 4D-9517 Clip, 8T-4137 Bolt and 8T-4121 Washer.

Step 12: Route the 274-3948 Hose through the 5P-9299 Clip and secure with the 8T-4136 Bolt and 8T-4121 Washer.

Group Number 2

Machines listed in Group 2 are 950 and 962H Wheel Loaders with High lift arm configuration.

Step 1: Remove the 8T-4136 Bolt, 8T-4121 Washer, and 5P-9299 Clip. These parts will be reused at the end of this procedure.

Step 2: Loosen and remove the 192-5942 Grease Hose and the associated spring or guard.

Step 3: Remove the 4M-8973 and 278-2078 Elbows from the tilt rod eye.

NOTE: Before removing the pin, refer to the Machine System Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR8881, "Tilt Cylinder - Remove and Install".

Step 4: Remove the 8T-6430 Bolt and 8T-5439 Washer, securing the E-Pin plate and remove the 234-3075 E-Pin.

NOTE: Before installing the pin, refer to the Machine System Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR8881, "Tilt Cylinder - Remove and Install".

Step 5: Install the new 346-1656 E-Pin.

Step 6: Install the 3B-8489 Grease Fitting on the rod eye.

Step 7: Install the 309-2856 Connector and 177-3464 Elbow in the center of the 346-1656 E-Pin.

Step 8: Connect the new 296-7930 Hose to the 177-3464 Elbow.

Step 9: Install the new 335-9383 Cover Assembly.

Step 10: Secure the 335-9383 Cover Assembly and the 346-1656 E-Pin with the 7X-2564 Bolt and 8T-5439 Washer. Tighten to a torque of 460 +/- 60 Nm.

Step 11: Re-route the 296-7930 Hose and secure with a 4D-9517 Clip, 8T-4137 Bolt and 8T-4121 Washer.
