(1) Remove plug (1) from Front Idler Assembly and apply air pressure to this port. Front Idler Assembly should sustain 255 ± 10 kPa (37 ± 1.5 psi) air pressure for a minimum of 30 seconds. Add 0.26 L (.07 US gal) of SAE 30-D oil and replace plug (1).

(2) At assembly, O-rings of floating seal (2) must be clean and dry. Apply a small amount of oil on the contacting surfaces of the metal seals before installation.

(3) Apply a small amount of oil on seal.

(4) Install the pin. The correct position of the pin is shown in View A-A.

(5) Install the shaft (5). Position the "R" that is stamped on the end face backward into the angular bearing.

End play:

Minimum ... 0.25 mm (.010 inch)

Maximum ... 1.15 mm (.045 inch)
