(1) Remove plug (1) from Front Idler Assembly and apply air pressure to this port. Front Idler Assembly should sustain 260 ± 10 kPa (38 ± 1.5 psi) air pressure for a minimum of 30 seconds. Add .18 ± .02 L (0.05 ± 0.01 US gal) of SAE 30-D oil and replace plug (1).
(2) At assembly, O-rings of floating seal (2) and all surfaces in contact with the floating seal must be clean and dry. Apply a small amount of oil on the contacting surfaces of the metal seals before installation.
(3) Apply a small amount of oil on seal.
(4) Install the pin. The correct position of the pin is shown in View A-A.
(5) Install the shaft (5). Position the "R" that is stamped on the end face backward into the angular bearing.
End play:
- Minimum ... .26 mm (0.010 inch)
- Maximum ... 1.26 mm (0.050 inch)
