Caterpillar no longer recommends the use of 195-6071 Spark Plugs Or 195-6353 Spark Plugs in the engines that are listed above. The use of these spark plugs may result in an engine misfire after a short period of operation.

The recommended spark plug for the G3300 Engines is the 2N-2839 Spark Plug. The plug gaps should be set at 0.64 ± 0.038 mm (0.025 ± 0.0015 inch).

The recommended spark plugs for the G3400 Engines follow: the 2N-2839 Spark Plug, the 104-3170 Spark Plug and the 128-6238 Spark Plug. The plug gaps for the 2N-2839 Spark Plug should be set at 0.64 ± 0.038 mm (0.025 ± 0.0015 inch). The plug gap for the 104-3170 Spark Plug or the 128-6238 Spark Plug should be set at 0.28 ± 0.038 mm (0.011 ± 0.0015 inch) for low emissions applications that use a high compression ratio. The plug gap should be set at 0.41 ± 0.038 mm (0.016 ± 0.0015 inch) for all other applications.
