Jumper Cables for Engine Configuration

The jumper cables are factory installed. The jumper cables are used in order to configure the control panel for different applications.

A jumper cable that is connected between terminal 511 and terminal 512 is used for in-line engines. No jumper cable is used for vee engines.

A jumper cable that is connected between terminal 511 and terminal 513 is used to indicate 6 cylinders per bank. No jumper cable is used in order to indicate 8 cylinders per bank.

A jumper cable that is connected between terminal 511 and terminal 514 is used to indicate that the optional generator RTD molule is NOT installed. No jumper cable is used in order to indicate that the optional generator RTD molule is installed.

A jumper cable that is connected between terminal 511 and terminal 515 is used to indicate that the optional transducers are NOT installed. No jumper cable is used in order to indicate that the optional transducers are installed.

Start Interlock

The panel is supplied with a jumper cable between terminal 74 and terminal 75. The customer can remove the jumper cable in order to install a contactor assembly. The contactor assembly and the terminal must be in series in order for Start Interlock to take place. A contact that indicates the operation of a ventilation fan is an example.

Prelube Interlock

The panel is supplied with a jumper cable between terminal 71 and terminal 72. The customer can remove the jumper cable in order to install a contactor assembly. The contactor assembly and the terminal must be in series in order for Prelube Interlock to take place. A contact that indicates the status of the air pressure is an example.

Configuration of the Fuel Shutoff

The panel is supplied with a wire between terminal 82 and either terminal 82A or 82B. The wire configures the panel for either "Energized to Shutdown" or "Energized to Run". If the fuel system is "Energized to Shutdown", the wire will be installed on terminal 82 and terminal 82A. If the fuel system is "Energized to Run", the wire will be installed on terminal 82 and terminal 82B.

Note: The wire must match the fuel system for proper operation. Changing the wire will not change the operation of the fuel system.

Configuration of the Governor

A jumper cable can be connected to terminal 1A and terminal 249. This depends on the type of governor that is used. The jumper cable must be installed for proper operation of the speed controls on a 2301A governor. The jumper cable must be removed for proper operation of the speed controls on a 723Plus governor. The jumper cables have no effect on a 3161 governor.

PLC Alarms

If the optional "Water Level Low" contactor is NOT installed, a jumper cable will be factory installed between terminal 1B and terminal 215 in the control panel.

If the optional "Sea Water Pressure" contactor is NOT installed, a jumper cable will be factory installed between terminal 1B and terminal 216 in the control panel.

If the optional "Customer Auxiliary Alarm #1" contactor is installed, the jumper cable that is factory installed between terminal 1B and terminal 217 in the control panel must be removed.

Note: The contactor assembly for customer alarm that is supplied must have a contact that is closed under normal operating conditions.

If the optional "Customer Auxiliary Alarm #2" contactor is installed, the jumper cable that is factory installed between terminal 1B and terminal 218 in the control panel must be removed.

Note: The contactor assembly for customer alarm that is supplied must have a contact that is closed under normal operating conditions.

PLC Shutdowns

If the optional "Customer Auxiliary Shutdown #1" is used, the jumper cable that is factory installed between terminal 1B and 221 must be removed.

Note: The contactor assembly for customer alarm that is supplied must have a contact that is closed under normal operating conditions.

Customer Shutdown

The contact assembly for a customer shutdown can be installed between terminal 90 and terminal 108 or between terminal 91 and terminal 108. The shutdown will only be active after the "Crank Terminate Time Delay" time out of the relay if the jumper cable is on terminal 91. If the jumper cable is on terminal 90, The shutdown will be active whenever the engine is running. If the jumper cable is on terminal 90, the shutdown will be active whenever the engine is ready to run.

Oil Mist Detector

The oil mist detector is optional. If the oil mist detector is installed, a jumper cable that is factory installed will be between terminal 80, terminal 235, and terminal 236 in the control panel.
