Number 10 LED is Blinking - Troubleshoot

This condition indicates that the ambient temperature is greater than 70 °C (158 °F).

Indication of the Condition

  • The red number 10 LED is flashing.

  • No other LED is illuminated.

Probable Causes

  • Heat is radiating onto the detector.

Recommended Repairs

  1. Direct the source of heat away from the detector or protect the detector from the source of heat.

  1. Make sure that the ventilation in the engine room is adequate.

  1. Make sure that the supply of fresh air to the detector is not excessively heated.

  1. After the source of heat is controlled, press the "RESET" button.

    Expected Result

    The number 10 LED is no longer flashing. The detector is operating normally.

    Results

    OK - The detector is operating normally.

    Not OK - Reset the system again. Troubleshoot any active faults.
