Oil Mister Pump And Lines Groups No Longer Used {1105, 1319}

Usage:

G3612 1YG
Engine:
G3606 (S/N: 3XF1-210)
G3608 (S/N: 4WF1-119)
G3612 (S/N: 1YG1-173)
G3616 (S/N: 4CG1-131)

The engines that are listed in the title include engine driven intake valve oil mister pump and lines groups. These intake valve oil mister pump and lines groups are no longer included in production G3600 Engines. Field evaluations indicate that lubrication of the intake valve is not necessary for these gas engines. Removal of the intake valve oil mister pump and lines groups from the existing engines will not adversely affect the cylinder head life.

If the customer decides to remove the intake valve oil mister pump and lines group, see "Removal Of Intake Valve Oil Mister Pump And Lines Groups". If the customer decides to disable the oil mister pump with the pump and lines in place, see "Disable Intake Valve Oil Mister Pump".

Removal Of Intake Valve Oil Mister Pump And Lines Groups

Use this procedure to completely remove intake valve oil mister pump and lines group components from the engine.

  1. Shut down the engine.

  1. Remove the oil supply line and fittings that go between the oil mister pump and the engine oil supply port. Install a 9S-4191 O-Ring Plug 9/16 inch - 18 thd) and a 3J-1907 O-Ring Seal in the engine oil supply port.

  1. Remove the oil lines that go between the oil mister pump and the engine intake air plenum. This will leave holes in the engine intake air plenum. Install a 9S-4185 O-Ring Plug (3/4 inch - 16 thd) and a 3K-0360 O-Ring Seal in each hole in the enigne intake air plenum.

  1. Remove the oil mister pump. Keep the mounting hardware for the oil mister pump.

  1. Remove the pump adapter and the pump spacer. Remove the pump coupling and the pump drive shaft.

  1. Reinstall the pump adapter and the pump spacer. A 1W-2334 Gasket is installed on each side of the pump spacer.

  1. Use the oil mister pump mounting hardware and an 5p-9658 O-Ring Seal to install a 162-9237 Cover on the pump adapter.

Disable Intake Valve Oil Mister Pump

  1. Remove the oil supply line that goes between the oil mister pump and the engine oil supply port. Install a 9S-4191 O-Ring Plug (9/16 inch - 18 thd) and a 3J-1907 O-Ring Seal in the engine oil supply port.

  1. Oil lines go between the oil mister pump and the engine intake air plenum. Remove those oil lines from the engine intake air plenum. This will leave holes in the engine intake air plenum. Install a 9S-4185 O-Ring Plug (3/4 inch - 16 thd) and a 3K-0360 O-Ring Seal in each hole in the engine intake air plenum.

  1. Remove the oil mister pump coupling and the drive shaft.
