Removal Procedure

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Note: The engine enclosure group was removed for photographic purposes.
- Move the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Move the fuel shutoff valve to the OFF position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel Tank Shutoff and Drain Control".
- Remove bottom guard (1) .

- Disconnect hose assembly (3) and tube assembly (5). Remove bolts (4). Remove fuel transfer pump (2) .

Installation Procedure
Note: The engine enclosure group was removed for photographic purposes.
- Position fuel transfer pump (2). Install bolts (4). Connect hose assembly (3) and tube assembly (5) .

- Install bottom guard (1) .

- Move the fuel shutoff valve to the ON position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel Tank Shutoff and Drain Control".
- Move the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
