Aftercooler - Install
Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Install new seals (26) on manifold (27) .

- Use a suitable lifting device to install aftercooler housing (23) on the manifold.

- Install bolts (24) .
Note: Three of bolts (24) have a washer with rubber seal (25) .
- Check O-ring seals (22) for damage or wear. Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.
Note: Apply a light coat of lubricant to the O-ring seals prior to installation.

- Install new gaskets (21) and the core assembly in aftercooler housing (19) .
- Attach a suitable lifting device to the core assembly and aftercooler housing (19) . The weight of the core assembly and aftercooler housing (19) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb).

- Install the core assembly and aftercooler housing (19) .
- Install bolts (18) and bolt (20) .
- Tighten the bolts in a numerical sequence to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft). Tighten the bolts again in a numerical sequence to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).
- Install flange (17) .

- Install tube (14) .

- Install bolts (13) .
- Slide hose (15) in order to connect with the heat exchanger.
- Tighten clamps (16) .
- Connect tube (12) at both ends.
- Install tube (10) .

- Tighten clamp (11) .
- Install bolt (9) (not shown).

- Connect harness assemblies (8) .
- Install filter (5) and tighten clamp (4) .

- Install spacers (7) .
- Install bolts (6) .
- Install bolts (3) .
- Connect tube (1) at both ends.
- Install bolts (2) .
- Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
