Transmission Oil Cooler - Remove and Install

Usage:

3196 2XR

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Drain the oil from the transmission cooler.
  2. Drain the water from the transmission cooler.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Loosen clamp (1) .

  1. Disconnect hose (2) .

  1. Remove four bolts and washers (3) .

  1. Remove two brackets (4) .

  1. Remove transmission oil cooler (5) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission cooler (5) .

  1. Install the two brackets (4) .

  1. Install the four bolts and washers (3) .

  1. Connect the hose (2) .

  1. Tighten the clamp (1) .
