Description of Change: The engine ratings electronic software for the fuel cooled programmable electronic engine control module is improved. The new software increases the parameters that activate the fault indicator light for high fuel temperature. The temperature that initiates a fault signal is increased from 75 °C (167 °F) to 80 °C (176 °F). The increase of the temperature prevents the premature indication of a fault.
The new software also increases the duration time of the high fuel temperature, before the initiation of the fault light. The duration time is increased from four seconds to sixty seconds. The increased time prevents the premature indication of a fault.
Adaptable To: The new 188-2148 Engine Software directly replaces the former 166-7924 Engine Ratings Electronic Software. The new software is effective with 345B (PIN: 2NW137), 345B L (PIN: 4SS1586; 7KS687; 9GS286; 2SW142; BFG334) Excavators, and 3176C (PIN: 7ZR4237) Machine Engines.
The new software is adaptable to 345B (PIN: 2NW1-UP), 345B L (PIN: 4SS1-UP; 7KS1-UP; 9GS1-UP; 2SW1-UP; BFG1-UP) Excavators, 3176C (PIN: 7ZR1-UP) Machine Engines, and the models that are listed.
The Service Information System (SIS) Web is the source for the new software. Install the new software in order to prevent excessive system faults for high fuel temperature. The media that is referenced describes the necessary procedures.
