Undesired Speed Decrease with Load Increase - Troubleshoot

Usage:

  • Check for isochronous operation.

    1. Install a jumper between terminals 13 and 14 of the load sensing module.

    1. Operate the engine. Apply the load.

      Expected Result: The problem has been corrected.

      Results:

      • OK: Repair the wiring or the switch. STOP.

      • NOT OK: Go to 2.

    1. Check engine operation.

      1. Operate the engine.

      1. Observe speed while you are applying the load.

        Expected Result: Droop occurs near the full load point only.

        Results:

        • OK: It is possible that the engine is not producing the horsepower. It is also possible that the engine is being overloaded. Verify that the engine is within the load limits. Refer to the engine Service Manual, Service Procedures, "Engine Performance Check".

        • NOT OK: Go to 3.

    1. Check for faulty engine control.

      1. Disconnect the load sensing module.

      1. Load the engine as a single isolated unit.

        Expected Result: The problem has been resolved.

        Results:

        • OK: Check the load sensor for defects. STOP.

        • NOT OK: The speed continues to decrease with load. Check the engine governor. STOP.
