SUBJECT: Proper orientation of the rod yoke prevents interference with the stick during extension on some excavators.
PROBLEM: Early stick cylinders are equipped with a non-symmetrical rod assembly yoke. If the yoke is not oriented in the correct manner it may interfere with the stick when the stick cylinder is fully extended.
SOLUTION: Orient the rod assembly yoke to the position shown below. If the cylinder is removed from the machine and disassembled for service, the non-symmetrical rod assembly yoke must be assembled in the cylinder group with the yoke relief opposite the cylinder ports.
Note: Some cylinders have symmetrical rod yoke assemblies. These cylinders do not require special orientation.
