Spacer Plate - Remove and Install

Usage:

G3508 2TJ

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the cylinder head assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cylinder Head - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove gasket (3), seals (1), seals (2), and O-ring seal (4) from the spacer plate.

  2. Remove spacer plate (5) from the dowels in the cylinder block.

  3. Remove gasket (6) from the dowels.

  4. Remove the O-ring seal from dowel (7).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Ensure that the spacer plate and the surface of the cylinder block are clean.

  2. Install the O-ring seal on dowel (7).

    NOTICE

    Ensure that the surface of the spacer plate gasket and the surface of the cylinder block are clean. Do not use a gasket adhesive on these surfaces.


  3. Install a new gasket (6) on the dowels in the cylinder block.

  4. Install spacer plate (5) on the dowels.

  5. Install new seals (1) and (2) in the spacer plate.

  6. Install new O-ring seal (4) on the dowel.

  7. Check the cylinder liner projection. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Cylinder Liner Projection".

  8. Install new gasket (3) on top of the spacer plate.

End By:

  1. Install the cylinder head assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cylinder Head - Install".
