PROBLEM
On certain M325C Material Handlers, the boom and stick cycles times are very slow and the response suffers when the ambiant temperature is -12 C (10 F) or below. The pilot lines circuit to the stick lowering control valve are to small for cold temperature condition, which may result in slow movements.AFFECTED PRODUCT

New pilot lines need to be installed on the products listed below. The boom and stick cycle times and response times suffer when the ambiant temperature is ?12C (10F) or below. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated February 22, 2005 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled downtime.

Rework Procedure
- In lines group 216-9491 EY02, remove the 8 hoses 240-6953 (item 20) and replace by 8 hoses 230-4815.
- In lines group 216-9492 EY01, remove 1 hose 154-3622 (item 13) and replace by 1 hose 263-0399.
- In lines group 235-0758 EY01, remove 1 hose 243-3946 (item 9) and replace by 1 hose 264-8814. Remove 1 hose 243-3947 (item 10) and replace by 1 hose 264-8815.
- In lines group 246-7110 V03, remove 1 hose 233-9619 (item 22) and replace by 1 hose 131-4720 piloting SLCV valve.
- Refill the hydraulic tank according to the right level recommended in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
