PRODUCT SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE HYDRAULIC LINES ON CERTAIN GSH15 AND GSH15B GRAPPLES

This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS51707" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7755" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.

Although this Program is to be administered as described above on the Affected Product, parts should be removed from parts stock as soon as possible.

The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

This Revised Service Letter replaces the 10Aug2009 (Revised 14Aug2009) Service Letter. Changes have been made to termination date and Service claim allowance.

Remove all 303-2919 and 303-2918 Hose Assemblies from dealer parts stock. Also, any 348-0820 and 348-0819 Hose Assemblies that were received prior to August 17, 2009 need to have the couplings checked. Some of the 348-0820 and 348-0819 Hose Assemblies were incorrectly manufactured with a coupling thread size of M16x1.5. The correct thread size for the coupling is a M18x1.5 thread.

Submit one claim for all parts removed from dealer parts stock.
