Pulverizer Cylinder Cycle - Time

Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.

Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.

Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.

  1. Move the machine with the attachment to a smooth level location.

  1. Conduct a good visual inspection of all hoses, fittings, and components.

  1. Activate the parking brake.

  1. Start the machine. Run the machine at high idle until the hydraulic oil reaches normal operating temperature.

  1. Fully open the arms.

  1. Move the attachment control lever to the CLOSED position. Record the time in order to completely close the arms.

  1. Move the attachment control lever to the OPEN position. Record the time in order to completely open the arms.

  1. The time is different for each model. The cycle times are listed below.

    P16 & P20

    Open arms ... 2.9 to 4.8 sec
    Close arms ... 4.6 to 7.6 sec

    P25 & P28

    Open arms ... 2.7 to 4.5 sec
    Close arms ... 5.3 to 8.8 sec

    P40

    Open arms ... 3.4 to 4.5 sec
    Close arms ... 6.6 to 8.8 sec

    P60

    Open arms ... 3.2 to 3.8 sec
    Close arms ... 5.3 to 6.4 sec

  1. If the cycle times are not correct, refer to the Testing and Adjusting procedures of the machine and adjust the oil flow.
