Use the following procedure in order to install the magneto:

1. Rotate the engine until the No. 1 cylinder is at the Top Center Position on the compression stroke before installing the magneto. Make sure that the drive slots in the magneto drive coupling are at the correct angle. Refer to Specifications, "Magneto Drive" for the correct angle.

2. Turn the shaft of the magneto until the green index mark in the timing window (4) is at the counterclockwise timing mark (3) .

3. Insert the magneto into the bore in the magneto drive housing. Make sure that the drive tangs on coupler (1) engage correctly with the slots in the drive coupling.

4. Install the bolts and the washers in order to hold the magneto in position.

5. The total ignition timing, while in the "MAG CAL" mode with the Digital Diagnostic Tool (DDT), must be 28 degrees Before Top Center Position for the No. 1 cylinder. Adjust the timing by loosening and turning the magneto.
