Problem
Users are unable to register a device's Product ID or Machine Serial Number through the Dealer Service Portal (DSP). While it may appear that the registration has taken place and allow subscriptions, the device remains unregistered Onboard and future messages from the device may cause the asset to lose any set subscriptions.
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been identified. As an interim action, dealers can set the Product ID/Machine Serial Number locally for any devices that support Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool connections. If unable to set the Product ID/Machine Serial Number locally, dealers can submit a Dealer Solution Network (DSN) ticket for assistance to set the Product ID/Machine Serial Number through the back-office manually.
