Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

"Advanced Productivity" feature is not available within the Dealer Service Portal (DSP) for G-Series Wheel Tractor Scrapers, this is due to the analysis Electronic Control Module (ECM) is not being properly recognized by the PLE601 Network Manager.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been identified. As an interim action, any G-Series Wheel Tractor Scrapers intending to have "Advanced Productivity" subscription should remain on 2016B or earlier firmware. Any asset that has already been flashed past 2016B and is encountering this issue should be flashed backwards to 2016B firmware (Part Number: 512-8631 Monitor Software Gp).

Note: Flashing backwards may cause information (Hours, Product ID, and so on) currently stored on the PLE601 to be lost and all data should be reviewed before the flash, and prior to leaving the asset.
