Turbocharger - Remove and Install - First Stage Turbocharger

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Open right engine hood.

  1. Remove three V-band clamps (1), duct (3), and bellows (5).

  2. Remove V-band clamp (2), clamp (6), and tube assembly (4).

  3. Remove bolt with o-rings (10) and remove line assembly (8).

  4. Remove two bolts (7) and bolts (11). Remove line assembly with gaskets (9).

  5. Remove clips (12) and hose (13).

  6. Remove four nuts (14) and turbocharger (15).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install turbocharger first stage (15) in reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten nuts (14) to a torque of 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

    2. Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 22 N·m (195 lb in).

    3. Tighten bolt (10) to a torque of 20 N·m (177 lb in).

    4. Tighten V-band clamps (1) and (2) to a torque of 12 N·m (106 lb in).

    5. Tighten clamp (6) to a torque of 6 N·m (53 lb in).
