The bore (1) in the new steering cylinder rod is 5 mm (0.2 inch) deeper. The additional depth will help prevent damage or distortion to the position sensor rod.
Adaptable To: The new 453-2512 Rod As (2) replaces the former 271-2086 Rod As in the 271-2080 Steering Cylinder Gp, and the 334-6985 Steering Cylinder Gp .
The new 453-2512 Rod As (2) is adaptable to machines EMD1-77 and RBT1-177.
The new 453-2512 Rod As (2) became effective in production with machines EMD78-UP and RBT178-UP.
The former 271-2086 Rod As can be updated to the current design. Drill the bore for the position sensor rod 5 mm (0.2 inch) deeper into the rod.
If the position sensor group was damaged, replace the position sensor group with a new group of the same part number for your cylinder. The 271-2080 Steering Cylinder Gp uses the 271-2105 Position Sensor Gp. The 334-6985 Steering Cylinder Gp uses the 338-5365 Position Sensor Gp.
