Stopping the Machine

Personal injury or death can result from unexpected motion after the machine is stopped. Always place the shift control lever in the Parking Brake Applied (P) position in order to engage the parking brake before leaving the machine. |
- Stop the machine on level ground.
- Release accelerator pedal (4).
- Depress service brake control pedal (3).
- Move shift control lever (2) to the P position.
Note: When the parking brake is engaged, parking brake indicator (1) will illuminate.
- Release service brake control pedal.
- If the machine will remain parked, chock the wheels when appropriate. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Use of Wheel Chocks" for information on the appropriate use of wheel chocks.
