There are two oil filters for the hydraulic hoist circuit. The oil filters (1) for the hoist system are located inside the right frame rail in front of the cross tube.
Oil filters (1) is equipped with a bypass valve. The bypass valve limits the maximum differential pressure through the filter element when the oil is cold or the filter element is restricted.
Oil from the hoist pump flows to hydraulic oil filters (1) through the inlet of the filters. During normal operation, the oil flows through the filter elements. The oil flows from the element to the outlets. If the filter element becomes full of debris, the restriction to the flow of oil causes the pressure to increase. When the oil does not flow through the filter element, the debris that bypasses the filter can damage the other components in the hydraulic system. Follow the maintenance interval schedule to make sure that the filter element does not become full of debris.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU9099, "Maintenance Interval Schedule" for the correct service interval on the hydraulic oil filter.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU9099, "Hydraulic Oil Filter - Replace - Brake, Steering, Fan, and Hoist" for instructions on changing the hydraulic oil filters.
