New Multi Torque/Dual Horsepower engine software has been released for 3516B engines in 793D Large Off-Highway Trucks. This software applies to 3516B engines with 150 degree injectors for 392-0213 Fuel Injector Gp. The new software gives the engine the ability to use a range of torque and horsepower ratings based on the transmission serial number and transmission gear.

Multi-Torque Instructions

Multi-Torque - Uses a gear-based multi-torque strategy and has three different operating modes. Refer to Tables 2 and 3.

• Converter Drive: Utilizes Rating 1 or Rating 2 based on the transmission serial number.

• Direct Drive: Utilizes Rating 3.

• Economy Drive: Utilizes Rating 4 Based on the transmission gear. The engine software switches between ratings 1, 3, and 4 for the (S/N: JGG) transmission or ratings 2, 3, and 4 for the (S/N: JXG) transmission.

1. In the Cat ^® Electronic Technician (ET) Service Tool configuration screen, select the rating type "Multi-Torque".

2. Based on the transmission serial number the engine software will automatically select the proper Converter Drive rating:
   • Rating 1: 2160 HP for Low Speed Transmission - (S/N: JGG).

   • Rating 2: 2270 HP for High Speed Transmission - (S/N: JXG).

Dual Horsepower Instructions

Dual Horsepower - a single torque map will be used for all transmission gears. Refer to Tables 2 and 3.

• Rating 1 for (S/N: JGG) transmission.

• Rating 2 for (S/N: JXG) transmission.

1. In the Cat ET configuration screen, select the rating type "Dual Horsepower".

2. Based on the transmission serial number the engine software will automatically select proper rating:
   • Rating 1: 2160 HP for Low Speed Transmission - (S/N: JGG).

   • Rating 2: 2270 HP for High Speed Transmission - (S/N: JXG).
