ACTION REQUIRED
A parameter called "Fuel Enable Input" has been added in ET Configuration screen under Configuration Group 1. Setting this parameter to "ON" will allow the Engine ECM to look for the CAN Fuel Disable signal from EMCP panel. Functionality of the Stop button on the EMCP will be restored. Group 1. 1. Flash engine ECM with the new engine software that is applicable to the engine serial number being serviced. 2. Engines equipment with EMCP Panels - Turn on Fuel Enable Input parameter in configuration screen using CAT ET please reference Image 1. Note: If you do not turn on the Fuel Enable Input in ET, engine will not shutdown using the EMCP Stop Button. 3. No changes are required in the EMCP configuration. 4. Vessel wiring may also need to be reworked. If vessel wiring is incorrect with new software the engine may not start. 5. If the vessel equipment was using Fuel Enable Input in the previous engine software version, you will need to turn on CAN Fuel Enable Input in ET Configuration (reference Image 1) after flashing new software. Note: Engine may not shutdown when requested to do so by the vessel equipment if Fuel Enable Input is not turned on. 6. Verify engine functions correctly, Check the emergency stop functionality, and if equipped with an EMCP, engine will shut down using the Stop button on the front of the EMCP. Group 2. 1. Replace the existing emergency stop contact that has wires F715 and 229 connected with 111-1323 Contact Block. The new contact changes the emergency stop from normally closed to normally open. Reference Image 2. 2. Flash engine ECM with the new engine software that is applicable to the engine serial number being serviced. 3. Engines equipment with EMCP Panels - Turn on Fuel Enable Input parameter in configuration screen using CAT ET, reference Image 1. Note: If you do not turn on the Fuel Enable Input in ET, engine will not shutdown using the EMCP Stop Button. 4. No changes are required in the EMCP configuration. 5. Vessel wiring may also need to be reworked. If vessel wiring is incorrect with new software the engine will not start. 6.
