Usage:
All Trucks Equipped With The Truck Payload Measurement System
A loss of communication may occur between the on-board Truck Payload Measurement System and the computer running Truck Payload Measurement V8.0 (DOS based) in a Windows '95 environment during a download of payload data.
The communication error can be avoided by running Truck Payload Measurement V8.0 in the DOS compatibility mode (not a DOS window) of Windows '95. This mode shuts down Windows- '95 and runs a DOS shell. All Windows- '95 services are disconnected in this mode automatically, including network and CD-ROM drive support.
To put the computer into the DOS compatibility mode when running TPM V8.0, perform the following steps which will place an icon on the Windows '95 desktop:
1. Run Windows Explorer. Make sure that Explorer is running in a window (not full screen) so that a clear part of the desktop is in view.
2. Left click on the directory where Truck Payload Measurement V8.0 is installed.
3. Left click on TPM.EXE and drag it to the desktop. A shortcut is created on the desktop.
4. After the icon has been placed on the desktop, right click the icon one time and then left click on properties.
5. Left click on the program tab (at the top of dialog box).
6. Left click on the Advanced button and put a checkmark in the MS-DOS mode box by left clicking on the box one time.
7. Left click "OK".
8. Left click "OK" again and the setup is complete.
When ready to run Truck Payload Measurement V8.0, double left click on the icon. A warning box will come up asking if it is OK to enter MS-DOS mode and that all other programs will be shut down. Left click "OK" and the program will then load.
Run the program as usual. When finished, exit the program normally. A line will come up stating that Windows is restarting. After Windows restarts, every thing else should run.
NOTE: Since this will shut down all running programs, make sure that all data has been saved and all programs are closed before launching Truck Payload Measurement V8.0.
