Usage:
3508, 3512, 3516 Engines
Description of Change: A new bellows, flanges, gaskets and washers replace the former bellows, flanges and gaskets in some turbocharger groups. The new bellows assembly have more clearance between the inner tubes and the outer convoluted bellows allowing free movement between the two. In addition, the new bellows assembly have flattened ends to provide a flat surface that seals against the new graphite gaskets. Washers are now used beneath the heads of the bolts that fasten the new flanges to the exhaust elbows and turbocharger. This distributes the clamping force of the bolt more evenly.
Adaptable To: The part number of the improved turbocharger group has not changed. The chart and illustrations identify the new components. The new components are direct replacements for the former components when used together. The new components are effective with 3508 (96Y1112, 69Z548), 3512 (50Y908, 66Z410), 3516 (29Z941, 72Z412) Engines.
