Axle Housing, Axle Shaft, and Wheel Flange - Disassemble

Usage:

424B JRC

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the final drive planetary.
  2. Remove the axle housing, axle shaft, and wheel flange.

  1. Remove axle shaft (3) . Remove sleeve (1) . Remove retaining ring (2) from sleeve (1) .

  1. Remove axle shaft (4) .

  1. Remove bolts (7) , Washer (6) , and bushings (5) . Inspect bushings (5) , replace if necessary.

  1. Remove ring gear (8) .

  1. Remove retaining ring (9) . Use bolts (5) to remove carrier (10) from the ring gear (8) .

  1. Check the wear conditions of the components.

  1. Remove wheel flange (13) .

  1. Position wheel flange (13) on a flat surface and remove seal ring (11) .

    Note: This is a destructive operation for seal ring (11) .

  1. Remove bearing cups (12) and (15) . Remove O-ring seal (14) .

  1. If necessary, remove seal ring (17) and bushing (16)
