4C6600 Battery Voltmeter For Determining Battery Percent Of Charge {7468,0785,1401}

Usage:

Reference: Special Instruction, NEHS0538, "Operating Instructions For 4C6600 Battery Voltmeter".

The 4C6600 Battery Voltmeter (1) is a small digital voltmeter designed to measure the voltage of batteries from 6 to 60 volts DC. The approximate percent of charge of the battery is determined by referring to a chart on the back of the voltmeter or in the special instruction. The meter is powered by the battery being tested. The chart, in the instruction, gives percent of charge for 6V, 8V and 12V batteries.

The 4C6600 Battery Voltmeter provides an alternative to measuring the specific gravity of a battery to determine its condition. It allows the percent of charge to be determined on all batteries including maintenance free batteries where specific gravity cannot be measured because the battery case is sealed. The Caterpillar Battery Test Procedure SEHS7633-02 now specifies open circuit voltage for testing batteries. Batteries can be tested on the machine or in the shop. This small voltmeter can also be used to check the charging system operation on the machine. The LED display can be easily seen, even at night or in dark areas. The voltage is displayed to within 0.1 volt. The sealed case is shock, oil and acid resistant.

A 4C6777 Test Lead Kit is included with the 4C6600 Battery Voltmeter. Screw meter tip (3) into the hole at the bottom of the voltmeter. Screw red wire test lead (2) into the hole in the top of the meter.
