541 Series 2 and 552 Series 2 Track Feller Bunchers Engine Supplement Caterpillar

Removal Procedure

1. Move the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

2. Loosen hose clamp (3) and disconnect the hose from elbow (2). Remove bracket (1). Disconnect harness assembly (4) and cable assembly (6). Remove bolts (5) .

3. Remove elbow (2). Remove the air inlet heater.

   Note: The air inlet heater is located inside elbow (1) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install starting aid (Air inlet heater) (2) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Clean the face of the heater that contacts the engine block with solvent. Apply Type N Quick Cure Primer to the face of the heater. Allow the primer to air dry. Apply Tooling (A) to the face of the heater. Install the air inlet heater into elbow (2) and install elbow (2) into position.
