1. Turn battery disconnect switch (1) to the OFF position.

2. Disconnect cable assemblies (4) . Disconnect harness assembly (5) . Remove nuts (2) and electric starting motor (3) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install electric starting motor (3) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Tighten nuts (2) to a torque of 44 ± 11 N·m (32 ± 8 lb ft).

   2. Tighten the nut that secures cable assembly (4) to a torque of 21 ± 4 N·m (15 ± 3 lb ft).

   3. Tighten the nut that secures harness assembly (5) to a torque of 2.25 ± .25 N·m (20 ± 2 lb in).

   4. Turn battery disconnect switch (1) to the ON position.
