Description of Change: A new check and pressure reducing valve has been introduced. The body for the new check and pressure reducing valve is manufactured from steel.
The new check and pressure reducing valve incorporates new valve components, a screen and orifices in order to improve the service life of the check and pressure reducing valve.
The new valve is provided by a new supplier. The new valve components have different designs and longer service life.

A new 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve replaces the former 224-1209 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve on the listed machines.
With the introduction of the new 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve, there is a new 239-0614 Relief Valve Gp that replaces the former 224-4530 Relief Valve Gp that was used in the former 224-1209 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve .
The new 239-0614 Relief Valve Gp is a direct replacement to the former 224-4530 Relief Valve Gp in the former 224-1209 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve .
The replacement of the former 224-4530 Relief Valve Gp with a new 239-0614 Relief Valve Gp resolves instances of splitting of internal O-ring seal (A) which allowed oil pressure to leak back to the tank. This would not allow the brake pump to maintain the proper pressure in the supply line for the brake. The low pressure in the supply line causes warnings for low brake pressure. Diagnosing the problem incorrectly caused unnecessary servicing of the brake pump. Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the internal O-ring seal.
With the introduction of the new 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve, there is a new 239-0615 Pressure Reducing Valve that replaces the former 140-0973 Pressure Reducing Valve that was used in the former 224-1209 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve .
The new 239-0615 Pressure Reducing Valve is not a direct replacement to the 140-0973 Pressure Reducing Valve in the former 224-1209 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve. The new 239-0615 Pressure Reducing Valve cannot be adapted for use in the former 224-1209 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve. Install the new 239-0615 Pressure Reducing Valve only on the machines that have a new 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve .
The new 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve is adaptable to the following machines:
- 735 (S/N: AWR1-880; B1N1-1197)
- 740 (S/N: AXM1-2154; B1P1-4308)
- 740 EJECTOR (S/N: AZZ1-390; B1R1-478)
- 735 (S/N: AWR881-UP; B1N1198-UP)
- 740 (S/N: AXM2155-UP; B1P4309-UP)
- 740 EJECTOR (S/N: AZZ391-UP; B1R479-UP)
In order to adapt the new 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve onto your machine, a special instruction is now available.
Refer to Special Instruction, REHS4065, "Installation Instructions for the 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve ", for further information.
When testing and adjusting the hoist or the ejector pilot pressure on the 224-1209 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve, the pilot pressure is 4825 ± 100 kPa (700 ± 15 psi).
When testing and adjusting the hoist or the ejector pilot pressure on the 322-0255 Check and Pressure Reducing Valve, the pilot pressure is 3450 ± 350 kPa (500 ± 51 psi).
