Improved Routing of the Hose for the Steering Cylinder Reduces Wear {4304}

Usage:

797B JSM
Off-Highway Truck:
797B (S/N: JSM1-UP)

Description of Change: The hydraulic hose for the steering cylinder has been rerouted. An improved location for clipping is used in order to reroute the hydraulic hose for the steering cylinder. The new routing of the hose for the steering cylinder will reduce the amount of wear that is on the hose that is caused by rubbing against the rails for the engine mounting group.

Adaptable To: The 156-4026 Hose As is rerouted in order to avoid excessive rubbing from the rails for the engine mounting group. The new routing of the hose includes the use of the following new parts:

The improved location for clipping and rerouting of the steering hose is adaptable to (S/N: JSM1-364).

The improved location for clipping and rerouting of the steering hose is effective with (S/N: JSM365-UP).

Installation Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from flame cutting or welding on painted areas.

The effect of gasses from burned paint is a hazard to the person doing the cutting or welding.

Do not flame cut or weld on painted areas.

----------------------

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from fumes, gases and ultraviolet rays from the weld arc.

Welding can cause fumes, burn skin and produce ultraviolet rays.

Keep your head out of the fumes. Use ventilation, exhaust at the arc, or both, to keep fumes and gases from your breathing area. Wear eye, ear and body protection before working.

Protect yourself and others; read and understand this warning. Fumes and gases can be dangerous to your health. Ultraviolet rays from the weld arc can injure eyes and burn skin. Electric shock can cause death.

Read and understand the manufacturer's instructions and your employer's safety practices. Do not touch live electrical parts.
