Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss and to prevent contaminants from entering the system.
- Disconnect grease hose assembly (1). Use Tooling (E) to remove retaining ring (2). Remove retaining ring (2) and plug (3).

Note: Do not remove locknut (5) completely from ball stud (4).

- Repeat Step 1 through Step 3 to loosen the ball stud at the opposite end of the steering link.

Note: Inspect the O-ring seals. Replace the O-ring seals that are worn or damaged.
Note: Lubricate all the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
- Apply Tooling (F) to the threads and on the taper of the ball studs. Use Tooling (D) to install steering link (6). The weight of steering link (6) is approximately

- Repeat Step 1 through Step 3 to tighten the ball stud at the opposite end of the steering link.
- Check the alignment of the front wheels. Refer to Steering Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Front Wheel - Align".
