Typical Example
Typical Example
2. Remove two bolts (3) and install two 1" -14 NF guide bolts 28 cm (11 in) long. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to vibration damper (2). Remove the rest of bolts (3) and vibration damper (2). The weight of the vibration damper is approximately 81 kg (179 lb) for a 3508 and 225 kg (495 lb) for a 3512 or 3516.
3. If necessary, remove the bolts and the damper from the adapter. The weight of the damper is approximately 47 kg (103 lb) for a 3508 and 191 kg (420 lb) for a 3512 or 3516. The weight of the adapter is 34 kg (75 lb).
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the crankshaft vibration damper.
4. If damper was removed from the adapter, put the damper on the adapter and install the bolts. Tighten the bolts for a 3508 (1/2" -13) to a torque of 100 ± 15 N·m (75 ± 10 lb ft). Tighten the bolts for a 3512 or 3516 (3/8" -16) to a torque of 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft).
5. Install two 1" -14 NF guide bolts 28 cm (11 in) long in the end of the crankshaft. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to vibration damper (2). Put the damper in position on the guide bolts and make sure the mark on the damper is in alignment with the mark on the end of the crankshaft. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on bolts (3). Install four of the bolts and remove tooling (A). Remove the guide bolts and install the other two bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 1125 ± 100 N·m (820 ± 75 lb ft).
6. Install damper guard (1) and the bolts.
