Accessory Drive (Front)

Usage:

Remove And Install Accessory Drive (Front)

Start By:

a. remove governor actuator drive

1. Remove the bolts, cover (2), and the gasket.

2. Remove bolts (1).

3. Use two 1/2" -13 NC forcing screws to remove adapter assembly (3).

4. Remove bolts (5). Remove adapter assembly (4), the drive gear, and the shaft as a unit.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the accessory drive.

5. Make sure the two O-ring seals are in position on adapter assembly (4) and put clean engine oil on the seals.

6. Install the shaft, the drive gear, and adapter assembly (4). Make sure the teeth of the accessory drive gear are correctly engaged with the teeth of the oil and water pump drive gear and install bolts (5).

7. Make sure the two O-ring seals are installed on adapter assembly (3) and put clean engine oil on them. Install adapter assembly (3) and bolts (1).

8. Install the gasket, cover (2) and the bolts.

Disassemble And Assemble Accessory Drive (Front)

Start By:

a. remove accessory drive (front)

1. Remove O-ring seals (3) and (4).

2. Use a press and tooling (A) to remove bearing (2).

3. Remove bolts (7) and gear (5).

4. Remove bolts (8), retainer washers (9) and shaft (6).

5. Remove O-ring seals (12) and (13).

6. Use a press and tooling (A) to remove bearing (11).

NOTE: The following steps are for assembly of the accessory drive.

7. Make an alignment of the oil hole in bearing (11) and the oil hole in adapter (10). Use a press and tooling (A) to install bearing (11). Check the bore in the bearing after assembly. The bore in the bearing must be 75.000 ± 0.055 mm (2.9528 ± .0022 in). The bearing must be flush (even) with the surface of the adapter.

8. Install O-ring seals (12) and (13) and put clean engine oil on them.

9. Put clean engine oil on bearing (11). Install shaft (6), retainer washers (9), and bolts (8).

10. Install gear (5) and bolts (7).

11. Make an alignment of the oil hole in bearing (2) and the oil hole in adapter (1). Use a press and tooling (A) to install bearing (2). Check the bore in the bearing after assembly. The bore in the bearing must be 75.000 ± 0.055 mm (2.9528 ± .0022 in). The bearing must be 1.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.06 ± 0.02 in) below the surface of the adapter.

12. Install O-ring seals (3) and (4) and put clean engine oil on them.
